The new wave of bad weather that has been battering Campania since yesterday has forced firefighters to operate continuously, with over 250 operations completed in Naples, Avellino, and Salerno.
Heavy rainfall has severely tested the entire region, but the most critical situations are in the Salerno area, particularly in the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese area, where rivers have overflowed their banks, transforming roads into canals and trapping motorists and residents. Specialized water rescue teams have rescued people trapped in flooded cars or on the lower floors of submerged homes, working nonstop for hours in critical conditions.
The situation is not improving in the Avellino area, where a landslide affected Via Montevergine, in the municipality of Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo, necessitating immediate safety measures. Naples is also experiencing numerous incidents related to structural failures, unsafe trees, and flooding. To address the emergency, the Naples, Salerno, and Avellino command centers have increased their rescue operations, while high levels of vigilance remain in an already strained area that is far from out of danger.

The situation in Campania is very serious and worrying. The firefighters are doing a great job, but I don't know if it's enough to deal with all these problems. We hope help arrives and that people are safe.
