Naples – A new weather system threatens Campania. The Campania Region's Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow-level weather alert for the risk of thunderstorms, putting authorities and the public on high alert.

The wave of severe weather is expected to hit the region starting early tomorrow afternoon, Friday, November 7th. According to forecasts, the storms will persist mainly along the coast, bringing rain and thunderstorms.

The warning, in particular, signals the possibility of local precipitation that could rapidly evolve into heavy showers or thunderstorms.

Alert Duration and Details

The surveillance phase will officially begin at 15:00 PM tomorrow, Friday, November 7, and will remain in effect for the next 24 hours, until 15:00 PM on Saturday, November 8.

The Areas Affected

The yellow alert measure covers a large portion of the region. The specific alert zones indicated by the Civil Protection Department are as follows:

Zone 1: Campanian plain, Naples, Islands, Vesuvian area

Zone 3: Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Sarno Mountains, and Picentini Mountains

Zone 5: Tusciano and Alto Sele

Zone 6: Sele Plain and Upper Cilento

Zone 7: Tanagro

Zone 8: Lower Cilento
