She's thirty years old, lives on Via Marano-Pianura, and suffers from spastic tetraparesis and West syndrome, a rare condition that causes violent epileptic seizures. These seizures often occur at night, forcing her family to rush to the emergency room; in her last episode, she even had to be intubated.

For 25 years, the young woman had a reserved parking space in front of her home. It was an essential resource for daily emergencies.

Two days ago, however, the Marano municipal police department decided not to renew the permit: the space remains reserved for disabled people, but no longer includes a name. This means anyone with a permit can occupy it, leaving the family without any certainty of being able to park in their own backyard.

The residents, who have witnessed the family's daily struggles for years, have organized a petition to ask the municipality to reverse the decision.

“My daughter’s life is already hell,” her mother writes, “why humiliate ourselves like this?”
Politics intervenes: "Restore the nominative position immediately."
Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green Left Alliance and recipient of the family's appeal, spoke out on the matter:

I wonder why a permit was suspended in such a complex situation. The rights of vulnerable people are inviolable and must be guaranteed. Intransigence and discipline are needed in other cases. The reaction of the residents is touching: now the Municipality must reconsider its decision.

Borrelli assured that he will personally monitor the situation, hoping for the immediate restoration of the denied right.
