Naples – The Naples metro is preparing for an intense maintenance phase that will force travelers to reconsider their travel plans. Line 1, the city's vital artery, is closing to the public for four consecutive days, causing inevitable disruption to thousands of users.
To perform structural checks on the line and test rolling stock, the Neapolitan Mobility Company (ANM) has announced the early suspension of service. This measure, necessary to ensure the safety and efficiency of the system, will apply from Monday, November 10, to Thursday, November 13, 2025. During these days, the last passenger services will depart from Piscinola at 20:48 PM and from the Centro Direzionale at 21:16 PM, with service being completely suspended shortly thereafter.
The impact on urban mobility will be significant, especially in the evening hours, when Line 1 connects peripheral neighborhoods to the heart of Naples. Commuters and residents are encouraged to plan alternative routes, such as replacement buses or other metro lines, to avoid delays. ANM recommends consulting the official app or website for real-time updates.

This maintenance is part of a broader network modernization plan aimed at preventing breakdowns and improving punctuality. However, in a city already struggling with heavy traffic, the incident reignites the debate over the need for urgent investment in public transportation. ANM officials have assured that the work will be completed by Thursday evening, with a return to normal service expected on Friday, November 14th.
For those requiring additional details, ANM has activated a dedicated toll-free assistance service.

Metro maintenance in Naples is important, but travelers must be notified in advance. Four days is a long time, and many users may experience problems getting around the city, especially during rush hour.
