Naples – He promised to mend the broken thread with the afterlife, to bring a final message of comfort from deceased children, husbands, or parents.
But the "miracle," broadcast live on social media platforms watched by thousands of people, came at a price: digital donations, convertible into cash, which in some cases drained victims' accounts of up to 700 euros.
This is the accusation leveled against a self-styled psychic from Naples, who has come under scrutiny by the Prosecutor's Office after five women filed a joint complaint. The victims, residing not only in Italy but also in Switzerland and Germany, have decided to break the wall of shame and silence, supported by the association "La Battaglia di Andrea" and lawyer Sergio Pisani.

The Theater of Horrors streaming
According to the reports, the modus operandi was well-established and ruthless. Everything took place in broad daylight, or rather, under the ring light of social media livestreams. The woman, exploiting the desperation of those experiencing recent bereavement, claimed to "hear" the souls of the deceased.
To make the charade more credible, in some cases she allegedly enlisted the help of her daughter to simulate fake voices, passing them off as supernatural interventions. But the scam didn't stop at deception. The live streams were managed by a team of "moderators" who, like digital bouncers, exerted constant psychological pressure. Those who donated were cajoled and reassured; those who stopped sending money or attempted to abandon the connection were targeted, bullied, and publicly humiliated in front of the virtual audience, in a cycle of manipulation that the victims described as "undermining their emotional dignity."
The false uniform
The most disturbing aspect of the story lies in the fraudster's constructed authority. One of the complainants revealed to investigators that the blind trust placed in the woman stemmed from a calculated lie: the alleged medium falsely presented herself as a psychologist employed at a women's shelter. A qualification that, in the eyes of vulnerable and traumatized individuals, represented a guarantee of competence, ethics, and protection, leading them to lower all rational defenses.
The case has raised the outrage of the association "La Battaglia di Andrea," which has always been at the forefront of protecting vulnerable groups and is providing legal and psychological support to the injured parties. The investigation now aims to clarify the exact extent of the business and identify any other victims who have remained in the shadows, trapped in pain and fear of reporting the abuse they suffered.
