Naples - A collision that turned into a hit-and-run, involving a hit-and-run and failure to render assistance. This is what happened on November 16th on the Naples ring road, near the Agnano toll booth, where a 49-year-old Neapolitan man was reported by the State Police for his irresponsible behavior.
It all began in one of the toll lanes, when the 49-year-old rear-ended another car. Following standard procedures, the two drivers moved past the toll booths to fill out a joint accident report and exchange information. It was at this moment that a disturbing detail emerged: the driver responsible for the collision was completely uninsured.
Aware of his irregular situation, the man attempts an alternative solution, offering immediate cash compensation to the other party. The sum offered, however, is completely insufficient for the extent of the damage caused. Faced with refusal, the 49-year-old takes a drastic step.
The investment and the escape
Without hesitation, the man gets back into his car and flees. In a clumsy attempt to quickly flee the scene of the accident, he violently collides with the passenger of the car he hit, a woman who was standing next to the door of the vehicle.

Officers from the Fuorigrotta Motorway Subsection immediately began investigations to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and identify the person responsible.

Once located, the 49-year-old was reported for failure to render assistance. In addition to the criminal penalties, the man will also face heavy administrative fines: he was charged with a traffic violation for lack of insurance coverage, and 15 points were deducted from his license, a penalty dangerously close to a suspended driving license.

This article describes a very serious and worrying situation. It's incredible how some people can act so irresponsibly. Lack of insurance is a serious problem, and fleeing after an accident only makes the situation worse.
