The driver of the car that struck the florist was a 20-year-old man, resident in one of the Vesuvian towns, who was promptly stopped. The Naples Local Police Road Accident Unit intervened to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident.
The officers immediately proceeded with the investigation, revoking the young driver's license and seizing the vehicle. The 20-year-old also underwent all the necessary urgent tests to determine whether he was under any mental or physical influence—such as alcohol or drug use—at the time of the accident.
La Local Police is now working to precisely ascertain the causes and responsibilities of this dramatic episode.
