A swift operation by the Local Police prevented a potentially serious risk to children's health, just before the Christmas shopping rush. In a massive seizure at a wholesale store on Via Gianturco in Naples, approximately 1.5 million counterfeit toys, deemed potentially harmful and dangerous for young children, were recalled from the market.
Anti-counterfeiting operations have uncovered a vast assortment of children's products lacking essential safety certifications and failing to comply with the strict European regulations. Among the discovered items are dolls, children's electronic gadgets, and the highly sought-after latest-generation trading cards, all ready for distribution on local markets during the upcoming holidays.
The toys, manufactured without any quality control of the materials, posed a serious threat to the health and safety of consumers.

The wholesaler's owner, a foreign citizen, was immediately reported to the relevant authorities. The serious charges against him include counterfeiting, consumer fraud, and undermining national industries that comply with regulations.
The intervention of the Local Police thus blocked an illicit traffic that not only endangered public health but also fueled the underground economy to the detriment of honest businesses.

You have nothing better to do…
We just confiscate the toys.
It's truly incredible that there are still counterfeit toys in circulation. Children's health must be the priority, and these types of products should never be sold. We hope there are stricter controls.
