Naples – A ten-thousand-square-meter area transformed into an illegal landfill, with over one hundred thousand cubic meters of construction waste buried or scattered across the ground. This is the shocking discovery made by the Carabinieri Forestali of the Naples unit on Via Mongolfiera, where a land control operation uncovered a veritable illegal trafficking ring of demolition materials, disguised behind the facade of a parking lot.
The investigation began after officers noticed an unusual movement of trucks and vehicles registered to rental companies within a construction site.

Technical investigations uncovered a well-organized system of illegal disposal. The waste, classified in the documents as "secondary raw materials," was actually special materials contaminated with plastic, electrical cables, glass, and ceramics, originating from building demolitions. This debris was used to illegally pave the land, an operation that led to the accumulation of approximately one hundred thousand cubic meters of hazardous material.
To make matters worse, the discovery that the land had been rented by the owner of a car rental company under the pretext of converting it into a parking lot. This activity, according to the Municipal Urban Planning Scheme, requires specific permits and cannot be carried out as part of a free building program. Upon completion of their investigations, the Carabinieri Forestale jointly reported the owner of the construction company, the land lessor, and the owners of the area for violations of the Consolidated Environmental Act and Presidential Decree 380/01 on building works.
