Naples - A body lying in a pool of blood, two clean cuts to the head, and the silence of the night providing the backdrop to a crime still unsolved. A mystery surrounds Corso San Giovanni a Teduccio, where Raffaele Di Nunzio, 59, a street vendor and resident of Barra, was found dead on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

The body was discovered in the entrance hall of the building at number 168 by a resident returning home. It was a horrifying scene: Di Nunzio was lying on the floor, with two deep wounds to his left temple, signs of unmistakable violence.

Carabinieri officers from the Poggioreale company and the coroner arrived on site, certifying the death and ordering the transfer of the body to the Secondo Policlinico for an autopsy.

The autopsy will determine whether the man was struck with a blunt or sharp object, but initial investigations suggest it was an assault rather than an accidental fall.

One detail did not escape investigators' attention: next to the door where the body was found is a bakery that produces bread, the same food Di Nunzio sold as a street vendor.

An element that may not be accidental.

According to what has emerged, the victim was known in the neighborhood as a quiet man, with no criminal record and a regular life: married, father of two, and tireless worker. He had no ties to organized crime, the Carabinieri said.

The investigation is now focusing on a possible argument that escalated. The injuries, consistent with blows from a heavy object, suggest that the 59-year-old may have been attacked during an altercation, perhaps over work-related or personal reasons.

The resident who made the discovery, his family, and the owners of the bakery next door have already been interviewed. So far, no one has heard any screams or suspicious noises during the night.

A mystery surrounds a sudden and violent death. The next few hours, with the autopsy results and the RIS findings, will be crucial to understanding whether Raffaele Di Nunzio's murder was a fit of madness, revenge, or a dramatic clash that ended in bloodshed.

This crime is very sad, but I wonder why no one heard anything. Usually, in neighborhoods like this, you can hear everything. The victim seemed calm, so I don't understand. The situation is really complicated.
