Naples - The Carabinieri patrolling the streets of Naples have been repeating it for months: the retail drug dealing world is seeing a surge in "clean faces," very young men with no criminal records, recruited because they are above suspicion. A phenomenon that recent operations in the area continue to confirm.
During the night, in the Barra neighborhood, officers from the Napoli Poggioreale company arrested a 21-year-old man with no criminal record. The young man was spotted strolling along Corso Sirena. Upon seeing the patrol, he quickened his pace, awkwardly attempting to get rid of two small bags by throwing them to the ground.
The gesture did not escape the attention of police, who stopped him and recovered the packages. Inside were 26 doses of drugs—hashish and marijuana—pre-packaged and ready for retail sale. About 60 grams in total. The boy attempted to justify himself by claiming they were for personal use, but this version immediately seemed unlikely, both due to the number of doses and the attempt to dispose of them.

The extensive search of the young man's home resulted in the seizure of €545 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing, as well as his smartphone, which is now being examined by investigators. The 21-year-old was arrested and is awaiting trial.
An episode that, for investigators, confirms a now consolidated trend: the growing use of pushers with no criminal record, young and easily replaceable pawns in the mosaic of city drug dealing.

Drug dealing in Naples is a very complex situation. Young people being exploited by dealers is a problem that must be addressed seriously. We hope the authorities take appropriate measures to stop this phenomenon.
