Naples -– A joint operation by the Carabinieri of the Rione Traiano station and the staff of the ASL Napoli 1 has torn the veil on a double and very serious fraud in the heart of the Soccavo neighborhood
Two bakeries, known for their production, were found to be veritable centers of illegality, with the owners stealing huge quantities of electricity and selling tons of products in deplorable hygienic and sanitary conditions.
The toll of the raid is staggering: over 3,5 tons of food seized and estimated damage to the electricity supplier amounting to nearly 171 euros.
Unacceptable hygienic conditions
The outbreak of illegality has focused on dual activity.

The second activity, however, resulted in even higher illicit "savings," reaching approximately 92 euros stolen from the operator.
But the most alarming situation concerned food safety. The military, supported by local health authority technicians, seized 2,7 tons of bread and 7 quintals of cured meats. The goods lacked any traceability, and the raw materials were stored in violation of all health and hygiene regulations, in premises with serious structural and hygienic deficiencies.
The two owners were immediately reported to the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office for the crimes committed. The intervention of the Soccavo Carabinieri is not limited to the criminal aspect alone, but also to protect public health by removing from the market a huge quantity of products potentially dangerous to consumers. The investigation is ongoing to determine any further responsibilities.

The situation described in the article is very serious and worrying. It's unacceptable that there are businesses that don't comply with hygiene standards and steal electricity. I hope that adequate measures will be taken to stop these frauds.
