Naples - Officers from the Environmental, Agri-food, and Forestry Police Investigative Unit of the Naples Carabinieri Forestry Group have executed a precautionary measure and a seizure order issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, against an Italian citizen.
The man is under investigation for the crimes of breach of seal and procedural fraud, charged with events that occurred in Naples in October 2024.
The investigation stems from a previous investigation, coordinated by the 5th Environmental and Land Protection Section of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, into a forest fire in August 2022 that affected the protected area of the Oasi degli Astroni.
On that occasion, the investigation focused on the improper use of fireworks in seized areas connected to a hospitality facility in Agnano, managed by the suspect himself, who had since been appointed judicial custodian of the unprotected areas.
During a subsequent judicial police inspection, aimed precisely at verifying a possible breach of security, the manager allegedly surreptitiously deleted recordings from the restaurant's private video surveillance system. This action, according to the prosecution, was intended to obstruct the investigation, thus supporting the possibility of procedural fraud.
The video recording device was seized, and thanks to technical consultancy, investigators were able to reconstruct what happened. Forensic analysis allowed the suspect to be charged with multiple recent aggravated violations of security for continuing to use some of the seized areas during events and activities organized at the Agnano accommodation facility.
With the provision carried out by the Nucleus of Environmental Police, Agri-food and Forestry of Naples, ordered the suspect to remain in the entire provinces of Naples and Caserta. At the same time, the entire property used as a restaurant was seized, with the aim of clearing it of people and property, to prevent further illegal use of the areas under judicial constraint.
