NAPLES – The State Police has yet another crackdown on drug trafficking in the heart of the city. Yesterday afternoon, on Via Firenze, officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station arrested a 21-year-old Moroccan man, an illegal immigrant with a criminal record, for possession of narcotics with intent to sell and resisting a public officer.

The intervention was immediate: the officers chased the suspect, managing to subdue him after a brief struggle. They found on him two packages of hashish weighing approximately five grams in total and €430 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

The buyer, arrested immediately afterward, was found in possession of the newly purchased dose and fined for personal use. The pusher, however, was arrested and taken to the police station and placed at the disposal of judicial authorities.
