Naples – An evening with friends in the university area turned into a nightmare for an 18-year-old student. According to investigators, the young woman drank a soft drink offered by a young man she had met shortly before, but immediately afterward began to feel dizzy, eventually losing consciousness. When she awoke, she was at home, in a state of shock and showing obvious signs of violence.
The girl's confused but detailed testimony allowed the police to track down a suspect within hours: a twenty-year-old Neapolitan, now charged with aggravated sexual assault.
Flying Squad officers gathered evidence and testimonies in the area of Largo San Giovanni Maggiore, the beating heart of student nightlife, where the meeting allegedly took place.

According to initial investigations, anesthetics or sedatives may have been added to the drink. Investigators are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests to confirm the presence of drugs commonly used in so-called "chemical rapes." The Prosecutor's Office has ordered further investigations and an analysis of video surveillance systems.
The shocked university community is demanding increased surveillance and security in student areas, the scene of an incident that has reignited concerns about gender-based violence and the criminal use of drugs to subdue victims.

This article is very worrying; these things shouldn't happen to young girls. It's important to ensure greater security in these places where students go to have fun, and that justice is served.
