A Gulfstream G650 aircraft from the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force landed in Naples this afternoon, carrying out a very delicate medical transport: a one-day-old newborn baby girl was urgently transferred from Lamezia Terme to the Colli–Monaldi Specialized Hospital, a leading center for the treatment of the most complex neonatal conditions.
The operation, requested by the Prefecture of Catanzaro and coordinated by the Situation Room of the Air Squadron Command – 1st Air Region of Milan, was activated extremely quickly thanks to the readiness of the Air Force crews, always on alert for missions of this type.
The baby traveled in a thermal bassinet, constantly monitored by a specialized medical team to ensure maximum safety throughout the flight.

Today's mission is the third emergency medical transport performed by the Italian Air Force in less than 24 hours. In the preceding hours, another Gulfstream G650 from the 31st Wing had transported a woman from Lampedusa to Palermo, while a C-130J from the 46th Air Brigade had flown a patient from Ciampino Airport to Bari.
A series of interventions that confirms the Armed Forces' fundamental role in supporting national medical emergencies, often crucial in saving lives at the most critical moment.

You are heroes.
It's very important that the Air Force carries out these medical transports because they save lives. I hope they continue to perform these operations, which are so helpful to people, and that there are no problems during the flights.
