Boscoreale - He's convinced his son was the victim of mistaken identity, or at least the killers' targeting. "My son has always been a quiet boy. He heard gunshots, looked out, and was hit by a stray bullet. He wasn't the target. He was very good."
Salvatore Nappo, father of Pasquale, said this to journalists. He was killed during the night in Piazza Pace in Boscoreale with a single gunshot that hit him under the armpit.
"We can't explain it. I heard from him at midnight; he was at a party in Naples. On his way back, he stopped with friends in the square. He was calm. He hung out with quiet people. He had recently graduated but was working so as not to be a burden on his family. Now we're just asking for justice; we want to know why this happened to us."
Investigators, however, are remaining tight-lipped and, without neglecting any leads, are analyzing and combing through all his interactions. His contacts, chats, emails, social media—in short, everything that might help paint a picture of a young man with a clean criminal record, unknown to the justice system, who frequented older boys.
The Carabinieri investigating, coordinated by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office, are analyzing footage from numerous public and private security cameras in the area where the attack occurred last night, as the Boscoreale Town Hall and several businesses equipped with video surveillance are located there.

And then last night the people who accompanied him to the hospital were two people, both much older than Pasquale Nappo and with criminal records.
And again on his TikTok profile there is a photo of him and two boys, one probably arrested given that in the background there is the song by the neo-musician Anthony entitled "Simme una cosa" with clear references to a prisoner, given that in the comments he is wished "quick freedom".
It's difficult to determine at this time who the two killers, who arrived on a motorcycle and wore full-face helmets and opened fire on the group of four or five people, were targeting. But the investigation is taking place in the complex criminal context of the Boschese Camorra, which has always been controlled by old-school family clans and rarely leaves room for bullies or alleged juvenile gangs.
It's not that the young victim was a member of them, but it's likely that she knew them or rarely visited them. Now, whether the three shots fired from the killer's gun were aimed at someone else or at Nappo will be determined by the ballistics analysis and the Carabinieri investigation.
The only certainty at the moment is the death of an 18-year-old boy killed in a criminal context. "This event has shocked me as mayor and as a father. It's unfair that an 18-year-old boy should see his dreams derailed by such a terrible event," said the mayor of Boscoreale, Pasquale Di Lauro.

The story is deeply tragic and makes us reflect on how certain situations can degenerate into violence. It's sad that a young man of only eighteen years old lost his life in this way. The authorities should do more to protect young people.
