Naples - They were expert killers, they knew where and how to strike and they did it: Salvatore Borriello, 26 years old, known as o' pirata (but has nothing to do with the boss Salvatore D'Amico who claims the paternity of this alias), a drug dealer linked to the Aprea clan of Barra, was hit by two gunshots that left him no escape.

The rush from Via Suor Maria della Passione Beata to the nearby Ospedale del Mare was in vain: he died shortly after his arrival. The investigations by the Flying Squad and the local police station, coordinated by the Dda They're focusing on his clan. So it would be an internal purge. A blatant challenge to the Aprea clan from rival clans in the area is also not ruled out.

The time of the attack, shortly after noon, the location, and the manner suggest an execution planned within the Aprea clan. The killers operated on motorcycles and wore full-face helmets, making them difficult to identify. CCTV cameras in the area will be used primarily to track the arrival and escape routes of the two hitmen, further advancing the investigation.

This impetus could come from analyzing Salvatore Borriello's cell phone, including his phone calls, chats, and text messages, as well as from what the victim's family and friends tell investigators. These investigations are certainly not easy, but the investigators already have a clear understanding of the case.

The internal feud and the precedent of 2021

Investigators are digging into the murky past of BorrielloIt wasn't the first time that "'o pirata" ended up in the crosshairs: already in 2021 he had been the real target of another ambush, a failed raid which by a tragic coincidence injured the innocent Federica Mignone and led to the arrest of four young scions of the clan, including Louis Aprea, known as "Gennaro 'o lione", son of the boss Ciro Aprea.

The key element investigators are focusing on is the hypothesis of a bloody internal purge. Borriello, although on the radar of law enforcement due to his dangerous proximity to Francesco Relli, suspected of being his personal driver, may have been on a collision course with some of the Aprea clan's top brass. A clash between young and old that, two years after the first attempt, culminated in his brutal execution in broad daylight. The latest victim of a relentless feud.
