In Piedimonte Matese, domestic tranquility has transformed into a journey of fear and resistance, which only yesterday, November 16, found expression in the complaint filed by a local woman with the Carabinieri station. Her story, fraught with tension and marked by emotions held back for too long, led to the arrest of a local man, charged with mistreatment of family members or cohabitants and stalking, under the procedures established by the Red Code.
The woman, already undergoing a difficult separation, described a hostile family environment, marked by obsessive surveillance, intimidation, and a constant climate of oppression. Some incidents, reportedly involving the military, also occurred in front of her two minor children, worsening an already delicate situation. Despite the severity of the tensions she had experienced, she had not sought support from anti-violence centers up to that point, choosing instead to turn directly to law enforcement after yet another situation she deemed intolerable.
The man, already known to the authorities, is now being investigated by both the ordinary judicial authorities and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, who were immediately notified by the Carabinieri. Pending the decisions that will be made, a radio surveillance system has been set up near the woman's home to ensure constant and visible protection.
