The port of Agropoli is preparing for a new era. Two million euros are coming from the European Union to transform the Salerno port into a modern and competitive hub, capable of attracting tourists and yachtsmen from all over Italy.
The Cilento municipality has scored a major coup: the funding, obtained under the Campania Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021/2027, will be allocated to the first functional phase of the port infrastructure redevelopment project. This strategic investment aims to enhance one of the drivers of the local economy.
An opportunity for the territory
The Agropoli port is much more than a simple landing place. It is the beating heart of maritime mobility, a hub for recreational boating, commercial fishing, and the development of tourism throughout the Cilento region. The planned projects aim to enhance these vocations, with targeted improvements to existing facilities.
The project is part of a broader vision for modernizing Campania's port infrastructure. The goal is clear: to make the port meet the expectations of an increasingly demanding tourism industry and a constantly growing nautical sector.
Enthusiasm in the Municipality
"An important step towards making the port more modern and competitive." With these words, Mayor Roberto Mutalipassi and Port Councilor Giuseppe Di Filippo welcomed the news of the funding. The city administration sees these European funds as a concrete opportunity to revitalize one of the city's strategic assets.
Work on the first functional lot is expected to begin in the coming months, ushering in a transformation that promises to transform the Agropoli port and strengthen its role in the Cilento tourism landscape.
