Road redevelopment work has begun on Via Tito Lucrezio Caro, one of the main thoroughfares crossing the Posillipo hill. This project is part of the larger Posillipo Project and represents a key step in the modernization plan for the Neapolitan hillside.

The construction site will proceed in a manner designed to minimize disruption to traffic.

The work will be carried out with traffic open, ensuring at least one 3,5-meter lane for vehicle traffic at all times. Pedestrians will also be able to move around safely: temporary pedestrian crossings will be provided throughout the work.

The established timeline foresees a total duration of the works of 12 months, with the construction site scheduled for completion in November 2026. The total investment amounts to approximately 5,7 million euros, earmarked for the complete redevelopment of the road axis, which represents a crucial hub for mobility in the western part of the city.

The project is part of a broader strategy to revitalize and enhance the Posillipo neighborhood, historically characterized by infrastructure issues that the Grand Project aims to resolve through coordinated interventions across the area.

It's a good thing that road redevelopment is starting, but I hope it doesn't cause too much disruption to those who live and work in the area. Twelve months seems like a long time, but if all goes well, it will be an improvement for the hill.
