Qualiano - The 'judicial' fugitive status of a 57-year-old Neapolitan man ended yesterday morning, Saturday, after he was issued a prison sentence that will force him to spend a significant amount of time behind bars.
The man was arrested by the State Police, on the initiative of officers from the Naples Flying Squad. The execution followed a concurrent sentence order issued last Friday by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples - Criminal Enforcement Office.
The cumulative sentences are significant: the 57-year-old is currently serving a remaining sentence of 6 years, 11 months, and 15 days in prison. The crimes for which the man was definitively convicted and for which he will now have to pay his debt to justice are twofold: Drug-related crimes: the core of the conviction is related to drug trafficking or possession.
Making a false statement or declaration to a public official regarding his personal identity: this conduct aggravates the overall situation, demonstrating attempts to evade or mislead the authorities. The arrest, carried out professionally by the State Police, puts an end to the long-running legal case, ensuring that the sentences are finally carried out and that the man serves the sentence imposed due to the seriousness of his criminal record.

The arrest of this man in Naples is sobering news. Justice must take its course, but I wonder if six years is enough for such serious crimes. The drug situation is complex and not always easy to manage.
