Robbery on the A16: Three arrested after a high-speed chase

Three robbers were stopped by police after storming a rest stop on the A16 motorway. Their loot was recovered, but no one was injured.

On the night between Thursday and Friday, a rest stop on the A16 motorway was the scene of a high-voltage robbery. Three individuals, all from Campania, broke into the rest stop, threatening an employee with a gun, stealing her cell phone, and forcing her to hand over cigarettes and other merchandise.

The loot, estimated at around €3.000, was recovered in its entirety thanks to the coordinated action of law enforcement.

After the robbery, the robbers fled in a rental car with stolen license plates, heading towards Naples. Police Police The Avellino and Naples police launched a high-speed chase that ended on the Capodichino highway, where the three were stopped and arrested. None of the officers or civilians involved were injured.

The suspects are now in custody at the Naples State Police offices, while investigations continue to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and determine any additional culprits. The incident has caused considerable alarm among motorists and highlighted the promptness and efficiency of the patrols deployed in the area.
