The investigation into the sudden kidnapping last April of the minor son of San Giorgio a Cremano businessman Pino Maddaluno has led investigators to open two new lines of inquiry.
One concerns the alleged connections with local politicians, including prominent ones, of Renato Franco, 28, identified as a man close to the Aprea clan of Barra. He was arrested yesterday along with Giovanni Franco, 25, as the former is identified as the instigator and the latter as the perpetrator of the kidnapping, along with the young Antonio Amaral Pacheco de Olivera, who was arrested immediately after the boy's release and has been detained ever since.
Amaral, who also worked for Maddaluno, made statements that allowed investigators to obtain further investigative evidence regarding the kidnapping and that led to the issuance of the precautionary order signed by investigating judge Fabrizia Fiore, who yesterday placed the two cousins, Renato and Giovanni Franco, in handcuffs.
The order contains two transcripts of statements by Amaral, which open up investigative avenues into the relationships between Renato Franco and several prominent figures in local politics.
In a statement dated July 11, Amaral told investigators from the Naples DDA: "Renato Franco told me he would sometimes go to eat with ...omissis." He is a well-known political figure from San Giorgio, who is also recognized in photos.
But it was in the June 30th report that Amaral had spoken in greater detail about Renato Franco's relations with local politicians.
The private “office” and dinners with politicians
Amaral describes a place he calls Renato Franco's "office," which was actually a room with a desk and chairs inside Franco's father's home. In that room, according to the story, meetings took place with local administrators and people with "business-like" appearances, unrecognized but considered to belong to a world far removed from the street.

A useless thyroidectomy has been ordered by the Naples 3 Sud Local Health Authority (ASL): €50 awarded to a patient who suffered damage from the scalpel.
The young man reports having repeatedly seen a well-known city administrator visiting the man he identifies as his handler, riding a high-powered scooter, and having also noticed the same individuals hanging around the town hall, in the town's main square. He also claims that Renato Franco claimed he "could do everything" in the city because he was "connected to politics," and that this influence was used to expedite his partner's residency application.
Luxury practices, favors and gifts
In the statements included in the warrant, the witness explains that he delivered records and documents on behalf of the suspect several times to a service agency and to the local politician himself. He also allegedly delivered a bottle of Champagne/Armagnac worth approximately €700 to the latter, delivered in the square, assuming that the recipient had a vested interest in handling the "bureaucratic procedures."
Amaral links that mediation to the speed with which the issue of his partner's residence was apparently resolved, thanks to the phone number of a politician from a neighboring neighborhood provided to him by Renato Franco himself. In a subsequent report, he specifies the surname of another local politician, described as a former candidate for mayor and now aligned with the current administration, although he does not know what formal role he holds.
The young man's statements don't stop at the incidents of intermediation, but paint a broader picture of alleged structured relationships between the suspect and the "good circles" of local politics. The image that emerges is of a person who, with strong ties to organized crime, sought support in public offices to consolidate his power in the area.
Now it will be up to the DDA magistrates and investigators to verify objective evidence of meetings, phone calls, administrative procedures, and flows of money or assets, to determine whether the swift kidnapping and the relationships described by the witness conceal a stable system of exchange between criminals and members of local institutions.

80% of politicians are corrupt munnezzz
But who is this guy?
The percentage of so-called white collar workers and this
It's not news that the old DC politicians were always in collusion with the Mafia and the Camorra.
The article presents a complex and worrying situation regarding the relationship between crime and politics. It is important that investigators clarify these connections and that there are appropriate consequences for those involved in illegal activities.
