An evening of entertainment turned tragic. During a dangerous stunt performance, a 26-year-old Chilean motorcyclist lost his life, while a 43-year-old Mexican rider was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition.
A third motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Colombian, remained conscious and fortunately uninjured. The accident occurred in front of a large crowd, and it is possible that amateur videos of the incident may circulate online in the coming hours.
The dynamics
According to an initial reconstruction, the accident occurred during the famous "Death Sphere" act. Three centaurs were moving at high speed inside a steel globe, in a nearly pitch-black arena, illuminated only by LEDs attached to their suits for stage effect.
Suddenly, for reasons still under investigation, the Chilean motorcyclist fell heavily into the center of the sphere.

Chain collision
The other two pilots attempted a desperate maneuver to avoid the impact, slowing down, but the limited space and the pressure of the moment made it impossible to avoid their colleague on the ground.
A violent collision ensued, involving all three motorcyclists. The 26-year-old Chilean was unable to recover, while the 43-year-old Mexican was taken to the Ospedale del Mare with critical condition, where he is fighting for his life.
