Sarno - A street ambush, a hunt for the "infamous" man: this is how the beating began. A hammer, a tip, and old, unresolved grudges. These are the elements that underpin the violent attack that took place on December 7, 2024, in Sarno, near the Prolungamento Matteotti, a short walk from the Justice of the Peace office. An episode that, according to investigators, is taking on the character of a veritable punitive expedition.
According to the reconstruction of the police from Sarno—supported by the Nocera Inferiore Territorial Unit, led by Lieutenant Colonel Gianfranco Albanese—it all began when a third party spotted the victim on the street and alerted the two future attackers. A terse phrase, "Come, the scoundrel is here," immediately triggered the raid.
The arrival of the brothers and the massacre in the street
The two brothers, aged 36 and 26, both from Sarno, reportedly rushed to the scene and immediately identified the young target. They allegedly restrained him and repeatedly kicked and punched him, before switching to an improvised weapon: a hammer. The blows to the head were delivered with such brutality that they left the man lifeless on the asphalt.
As the attackers fled, some passers-by alerted the emergency services.

Family grudges behind the ambush
The investigation by the Nocera Inferiore prosecutor's office, led by prosecutor Roberto Lenza, has allowed the entire incident to be reconstructed. According to investigators, the beating was caused by personal tensions and past resentments, fueled by alleged family ties between the victim and the attackers.
This morning, the measures were taken: house arrest for the two brothers, charged with attempted murder. The alleged accomplice, identified as the person who reported the victim, was also ordered to remain in his home. A similar precautionary measure was also imposed on the victim's father, who was found in possession of a gun during the investigative checks: he is charged with illegal possession of a weapon.
The case remains open: investigators continue to delve into the relationships between the protagonists, convinced that what happened is only the latest chapter in a family affair marked by unresolved conflicts.
