In Scafati, tradition returns to the center of town life with the official presentation of the "Calendar of Santa Maria delle Vergini 2026," a project proposed by the Mother Church as a visual reminder of its spiritual identity. The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 30th, at 10:00 a.m., in the parish hall overlooking Piazza Vittorio Veneto, a symbolic place for the community and the setting for the most heartfelt celebrations.
The calendar features images that tell the story of a year of faith and popular participation, the work of photographers who have long closely followed the bond between Scafati and its patron saint.

Completing the initiative is a photography exhibition open to the public until December 25th, a journey that takes visitors through the most significant stages of the patronal celebration. A mosaic of images curated by Alessandro Ragozzino, Arcadio Teodosio, and Anna Vuolo, alongside graphics by Salvatore Prinza and texts by Don Gennaro Romano, interprets Scafatese devotion with a careful eye on its roots and the present.
The parish invites all citizens to participate in an event that is not simply an exhibition, but a true community ritual: a way to rediscover what unites different generations and to reaffirm how the feast of Santa Maria delle Vergini continues to be a living, shared, and deeply identifying heritage.

It's a very interesting initiative for the Scafati community, but I'm not sure everyone will be truly interested in participating. Tradition is important, but sometimes it seems like there's little participation from young people.
