Naples - A new seismic swarm struck the Campi Flegrei area and part of the city of Naples at dawn. Beginning in the early hours of November 9, 2025, the INGV seismic network recorded a sequence of at least twenty closely spaced tremors, the first shortly after 4:00 a.m., followed by further events lasting until after 6:00 a.m.
The strongest tremor reached magnitude 2.2, but what struck residents and technicians was the duration of the tremor, clearly felt in several Phlegraean neighborhoods. Numerous reports came from Agnano and Fuorigrotta, where many residents reported vibrations of furniture and prolonged tremors of walls. Concerned reports also came from Pozzuoli, especially in the areas closest to the active caldera.
The Municipality of Pozzuoli announced in an official statement that the INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology) has confirmed the start of the seismic swarm, urging the public to remain calm and to follow only official sources for updates. No damage to buildings or infrastructure has been reported so far.
The seismic scenario in the Campi Flegrei, linked to the caldera's dynamics and bradyseism, continues to keep local authorities and experts closely monitored. Further assessments and announcements are expected in the coming hours.
