On Halloween night, Turin awoke to a chilling story: a 15-year-old boy was reportedly kidnapped, tortured, and forced to dive into the icy waters of the Dora River by some of his peers.
The city's Juvenile Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to shed light on what happened, coordinating the investigations of the Carabinieri, who have already seized the cell phones of three young people—two boys and a girl, aged between 14 and 16—accused of committing the rape.
The charges under investigation are kidnapping and domestic violence. According to investigators, the devices may contain videos and images documenting the attack, likely filmed by the teenagers themselves.
The three minors have not yet been interviewed, but the investigation is ongoing. The 15-year-old, the victim of the alleged abuse, was forcibly stripped of his cell phone and only regained it several hours later, when he was abandoned at the Porta Nuova train station.
The victim's mother filed a complaint with the Carabinieri on Saturday afternoon and recounted the incident in a lengthy post on social media, sparking widespread outcry and concern. The Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, led by Prosecutor Emma Avezzù, received the documents this morning and immediately assigned the case to a deputy prosecutor.
The 15-year-old will be interviewed by investigators in the next few hours, with a psychologist present to support him as he recounts the events.
