Sixty years after the release of Dino Risi's masterpiece, "Operation San Gennaro" is ready to return to theaters in a new guise. Titanus Production has announced the remake of one of the most iconic films of Italian comedy, a project that pays homage to Risi's genius and the timeless charm of Naples, the city at the center of that daring tale of thieves, saints, and superstitions.
The original 1966 film told the misadventures of a group of American thieves who, with the help of a local gangster, attempted to get their hands on the treasure of San Gennaro, a symbol of the city and its popular devotion.

I'm very curious to see what the new film will be like, even though remakes sometimes don't live up to the originals. Naples is a beautiful city, and I hope they do its history and culture justice.
