The city of Torre del Greco is grieving the loss of Aniello Scarpati, assistant chief coordinator of the State Police, who was the victim of a tragic road accident.
To honor his memory, the city administration has proclaimed a day of mourning for tomorrow, coinciding with the funeral, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the ADI Evangelical Church on Via Frà Gregorio Carafa, Naples.
The ordinance was signed by Deputy Mayor Michele Polese, at the request of Mayor Luigi Mennella, and includes a series of symbolic but heartfelt measures: flags at half-mast on all public buildings, the presence of the city's banner at the funeral ceremony, and the suspension of all recreational activities incompatible with the nature of the day.

In schools of all levels, as well as in public offices, a minute of silence will be observed at 10:30 a.m., concurrent with the start of the funeral service. A simple yet meaningful gesture, with which the city intends to express "the shared sentiments of the entire population, deeply affected by the tragic news," as stated in the ordinance.
In the document, the Municipality also recalls "the significant daily commitment of Assistant Chief Coordinator Scarpati, and more generally of the entire State Police force, to safeguard and protect the safety of citizens."
With this day of mourning, Torre del Greco wishes to pay tribute to a public servant and, at the same time, extend its condolences to the officer's family and colleagues, who have been deeply affected by a loss that has shaken the entire community.
