Rome – Francesco Totti and his partner Noemi Bocchi face trial for child abandonment. The accusation is specific: on May 26, 2023, they allegedly left their respective children, aged 7, 9, and 11, alone at home for over three hours while they went out to dinner.
Ilary Blasi discovered the situation when she called her daughter Isabel from abroad and heard the reply: "Mom, there's no adult here."
The call to the police and the alarm chain
Blasi's reaction was immediate. At 22:56 PM, the former host's mother called 112, explaining that her niece had had respiratory distress in the past and requesting urgent intervention.
The patrol car arrived at 23:20 pm, but didn't get on.

The nanny's alibi and the times that don't add up
At 23:50 PM, Cristian, Totti's adult son, arrived, going up to the penthouse alone. The officers stopped him and identified him, but didn't accompany him or check on the children. They remained in the courtyard. At 23:57 PM, the nanny Cocos Mandica, who lives with the doorman of the same building, arrived.
According to the prosecutor, the doorman told her to come up at the request of "someone close to Totti." The woman allegedly told Blasi's lawyers that she was in the penthouse "from 21 PM to midnight," but phone records show she entered only a few minutes before midnight.
After a thorough investigation, prosecutors requested the case be dismissed: the children were not in any real danger. Ilary Blasi's lawyers appealed the case. Their argument is unassailable: there was no formal assignment to the nanny, the 7-year-old was not with the other two but alone in the huge penthouse, and no adult was present until 23:57 PM. police It didn't come on for 40 minutes, and it took Totti almost half an hour to return after the warning. If something had happened, no one would have been able to intervene.

It's strange that two parents like Totti and Blasi could find themselves in such a situation. Children that age should never be left home alone, and the police were slow to intervene, creating further complications.
