Another victim has been added to the tragic list of workplace accidents in Italy. The tragedy occurred today, Thursday, November 27, 2025, in the early afternoon, in the countryside of Satriano di Lucania, in the province of Potenza.

A worker in his 50s, resident in the Salerno area, lost his life while cutting wood in the Bosco Ralle district.

The alarm was immediately raised by the other people who were with him at the scene at the time of the accident. Despite the prompt call, the intervention of the 118 Basilicata emergency services was unfortunately in vain. When the ambulance arrived, the emergency responders could only confirm the man's death.

The exact causes of the worker's death are still being investigated.

The Carabinieri from the local station immediately arrived at the scene of the accident and began initial investigations to reconstruct the circumstances of the incident. At the same time, the Labor Inspectorate was alerted to verify the proper implementation of safety regulations on the forestry site.

An attempt will be made to determine whether the accident was caused by sudden illness, human error, or equipment failure, and whether all procedures required for such a risky job were scrupulously followed.
