Naples – A double tragedy lies behind the urgent appeal launched today by the State Police Donatorinati Association. A tragedy that has already claimed one life, that of Aniello Scarpati, and which now sees an entire community mobilizing to save another: that of Officer Ciro Cozzolino.

The incident dates back to the night between Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd. On the streets of Torre del Greco, a violent car accident claimed the life of Aniello Scarpati and left police officer Ciro Cozzolino in desperate conditions.

Emergency transported and currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Naples' Ospedale del Mare, Officer Cozzolino is fighting his toughest battle yet. His condition is critical, and to maintain his hope, he requires immediate blood transfusions.

This morning, faced with the emergency, mobilization began. Tommaso Delli Paoli, regional president of Donatorinati, the association of voluntary police blood donors, issued a heartfelt appeal, addressed not only to his colleagues but to all citizens.

"Today – writes Delli Paoli – we find ourselves facing a challenge that profoundly touches our lives and our hearts."

The request is specific and leaves no room for delay: "Our worthy colleague, Ciro Cozzolino... urgently needs blood transfusions, specifically blood type A Negative."

A rare blood type, which makes research even more complex and donation even more vital.

"In times like these," the appeal continues, "our community has the extraordinary opportunity to unite and demonstrate that solidarity is stronger than any adversity." The invitation is to transform the pain and sadness of this tragedy into concrete strength and hope.

The appeal concludes with practical instructions for anyone who can and wants to help save the officer's life. Donors can go to the Blood Transfusion Center at the Ospedale del Mare in Naples, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., specifying that the donation is for Ciro Cozzolino.

"Every drop counts, every altruistic gesture can make the difference between life and death," concludes Delli Paoli. "Let's make our presence and our affection felt. Every donation is an act of love that can change the destiny of a man and his family."

It's sad to hear about these accidents, especially when lives are at risk. I hope Ciro Cozzolino can overcome this difficult situation. The community must unite and help with donations; it's important.
