BENEVENTO, 1 NOV – Tragedy in the night in Benevento, where a 55-year-old security guard lost his life while performing security duty. The man was hit by a heavy iron gate near the Tufara Valle train station, in the Apollosa area, which had been closed for some time due to EAV railway line reconstruction work.
According to initial reports, the security guard was carrying out his usual patrol of the construction site area when the gate, for reasons yet to be clarified, suddenly came off its tracks, crashing to the ground and overwhelming him.

The firefighters intervened on site Benevento, the Carabinieri, and an ambulance arrived, but all attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful. Investigators are now trying to determine whether it was a structural failure or an accidental maneuver.
