Vico Equense – A column of flames and smoke lit up the night along the coast of Vico Equense. Shortly before 11:00 PM, a violent fire broke out in the Marina area, causing panic along the normally quiet waterfront.
Rescue operations began immediately. Firefighters rushed to the scene, alerted to put out the flames that had ferociously engulfed the "Baia Santa Margherita" beach resort.
The fire, likely fueled by the presence of wood, tents, and flammable materials typical of beach resorts, quickly spread to the nearby "Da Vittorio" beach club, in a chain reaction that threatened to engulf an even larger area.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of firefighters, the fire was contained and extinguished after a lengthy operation, averting the risk of the flames spreading to other structures or neighboring homes.
Fortunately, at the height of the tragedy, there was one positive and crucial fact: no injuries among customers or staff, as both establishments were already closed to the public.

Carabinieri officers from the Vico Equense station also arrived on the scene and immediately took over the investigation to trace the exact circumstances of the incident and establish the origin of the flames.
The area of the two beaches has been sealed off to allow for surveys by experts and investigators, who will return to the scene this morning for a detailed reconstruction.
The most diverse hypotheses are being examined, ranging from arson to an accidental fire, perhaps caused by a short circuit or the incorrect handling of combustible materials.
The investigations, coordinated by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office, are now underway to give a face and a name to what, until proven otherwise, is being treated as a real tragedy that was narrowly avoided.

The fire in Vico Equense was very scary, but fortunately there were no injuries. However, I wonder how such a serious event could have occurred in such a busy area. It's important that clarity be shed.
