A joint operation between the Carabinieri Forestali and the Italian Army led to the seizure of an illegal auto body shop in Villa Literno, in the province of Caserta. The business, discovered in the Ischitella area, was operating completely illegally, committing serious environmental violations that once again underscore the urgent need for enforcement in the so-called Land of Fires.
The raid was triggered by a tip-off from the Italian Army contingent involved in Operation "Land of Fires." While patrolling the area, the soldiers spotted the suspicious structure and immediately called in the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Benevento.
The inspection confirmed the suspicions: the auto body shop, covering approximately 100 square meters, was operating without any authorization. Inside, five cars undergoing repair and painting, various equipment, engine and body parts, and several vehicle wrecks were found.

The irregularities discovered by the military go far beyond illegal construction. Investigators documented a series of environmental crimes: illegal management of hazardous waste, unauthorized discharge of industrial wastewater into the public sewer system, and emissions into the atmosphere without the required permits. These violations pose a serious threat to public health and the environment in an already severely affected area like the Land of Fires.
The business owner was reported at large to the judicial authorities. The entire facility was placed under seizure.
The operation is part of a broader environmental monitoring effort involving the entire province of Caserta. Forestry Carabinieri officers from the provinces of Benevento and Salerno are also participating in the activities, working in conjunction with the Italian Army. This inter-force collaboration is yielding concrete results in the fight against environmental crime, demonstrating the effectiveness of constant territorial monitoring.

It's important that regular checks be carried out to prevent situations like this. Illegal practices must not be tolerated, and public health must be protected. We hope these operations continue to be carried out in the future.
