Naples – A tense operation erupted in the Capodimonte neighborhood, where an operation by Carabinieri officers from the local station resulted in the arrest of two twin brothers who were involved in violent resistance.
During a house search, the officers located and seized a quantity of drugs, a prop gun without the red cap, and a switchblade.
The two young men, identified as Diego and Francesco Pio De Stefano, both born in 2007, were hiding several bars of hashish in a shoe rack and on a kitchen table. Inside an armchair in the living room, the Carabinieri later found a replica Beretta 92FS pistol and the pocketknife.

Attack on soldiers and damage to scooter
The raid took a dramatic turn when the two brothers attempted to evade arrest by violently attacking the officers. One of the twins allegedly grabbed a hammer and, in an attempt to prevent the seizure of his scooter, began hitting him repeatedly. The other, meanwhile, punched a Carabiniere, causing injuries that medical staff said would heal in 10 days.
The twins were immediately arrested and taken to the police station. They were placed under house arrest pending trial and will face serious charges of resisting arrest and aggravated assault.
It is not the first case in 2025
The unusual arrest of the De Stefano twins is the second major crime operation involving a pair of identical brothers in 2025. A precedent dates back to last February, when two sixteen-year-olds were stopped in Caivano and found in possession of 39 doses of cocaine, hidden in the car they were driving—a Smart, not a microcar for minors.
