Caivano, drug dealing relocated from Parco Verde to the city center: raid on the cocaine market.

Caivano – The Carabinieri's constant pressure on the historic drug dealing hubs of Parco Verde isn't stopping drug demand, but it's shifting its boundaries. Like a company relocating to evade surveillance, criminals are reorganizing their markets and bringing them to the heart of Caivano.

So the local company's men followed the flow of drugs away from the spotlight, all the way to Corso Umberto, where they identified a full-fledged drug sales point housed in an apartment. The apartment was transformed into an operations base, structured for 24-hour drug dealing, with controlled access and organized spaces to manage the comings and goings of customers.

When the officers burst in, brother and sister Franco and Angelica Cantone were inside. They attempted to escape through the windows to avoid being handcuffed. Their attempt was thwarted within moments, and the two were arrested.

During the search, 40 grams of pre-sorted cocaine, three precision scales, and over €600 in cash were seized, believed to be the proceeds of sales made in the preceding hours and days. This is another piece, investigators explain, in the strategy to combat a drug dealership attempting to reinvent itself by moving its operations from Parco Verde to the city center.
