Biagio Chiariello is the new director and commander of the Caserta Provincial Police. The appointment was made official by Provincial President Anacleto Colombiano, who granted Dr. Chiariello the mandate to lead the force, marking a significant step in the organization's structure.
Chiariello takes over the management functions previously held on an interim basis by Engineer Gerardo Palmieri and also assumes the role of commander, previously held by Acting Lieutenant Mario Mennillo. This appointment is intended to ensure operational continuity and administrative stability for the Provincial Police Force, at a time considered strategic for strengthening territorial control and surveillance.
The position falls within the scope of the agreement signed between the Province of Caserta and the Municipality of Arzano, in the province of Naples, which provides for the shared use of the manager. The appointment is part of Presidential Decree No. 145 of December 5, 2025, and represents a temporary solution, functionally linked to the subsequent conclusion of the voluntary transfer procedure, as required by Article 30 of Legislative Decree No. 165 of 2001.

This is welcome news, and we hope that Dr. Chiariello will do a good job as the new commander of the Caserta provincial police, but we don't know if he'll be able to maintain operational continuity and stability.
