Casoria – An extortion attempt using the classic "return horse" was foiled on Saturday evening by Casoria State Police, who arrested a 20-year-old Neapolitan man for extortion, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official. The young man was also charged with illegal possession of narcotics.
The incident began when a man went to the police station to report receiving numerous phone calls from a person demanding €1.000 for the return of his car, which had been stolen a few days earlier in Capodrise.
During the same report, the victim received another call from the alleged extortionist, which allowed the officers to organize a clever stakeout.
Following the operators' instructions, the victim arranged a meeting point to hand over the money without arousing the criminal's suspicions. The Flying Squad's "Falchi" (hawks) then stationed themselves at the pre-arranged location, awaiting the suspect's arrival, who arrived shortly thereafter in a car.

Upon seeing the police, the man attempted to flee, accelerating sharply and ramming the service car. After a brief chase and a struggle, he was apprehended by the officers.
During the search, officers found three packages of hashish on the 20-year-old, weighing approximately 10 grams in total. A search of the young man's home was subsequently conducted, where they found a precision scale, further aggravating the suspect's situation.
The alleged extortionist was subsequently arrested and taken to prison, while the car was returned to its rightful owner. The investigation will continue to determine any further responsibilities and complicity in the crime.

This article is interesting, but it seems like a lot is unclear. The extortion situation is serious and should be addressed more carefully by the authorities. I hope the police do their job well.
