Castellammare – The preliminary investigation has closed and the courthouse opens in one of the most murky and violent cases to rock the Campania school system in recent years.
Torre Annunziata GIP Emanuela Cozzitorto has ordered the indictment of the 38-year-old special education teacher, accused of turning the Catello Salvati school into a theater of unspeakable abuse.
The charges brought by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office—led by Prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso and with investigations coordinated by Prosecutor Bianca Colangelo—are very serious: mistreatment, sexual violence, incitement to sexual acts, and corruption of a minor.
The horror story
The alleged incidents date back about a year. According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri of Castellammare, the teacher allegedly targeted several students, all under the age of 14. The investigation, supported by protected hearings attended by psychologists, uncovered a disturbing scenario.
Among the most dramatic testimonies was that of a twelve-year-old who said he was forced into sexual intercourse and forced to watch pornographic videos shown by the teacher herself. The woman, currently under house arrest since her arrest last January, is due to appear before the court on March 23, 2026.
The State against the teacher
A significant element in this phase of the proceedings is the position of the Ministry of Education. The school has decided to take a clear stand against its employee, filing a civil action through the State Attorney's Office. The families of the seven students involved, represented by lawyer Antonio De Martino, are ready to seek justice for the trauma their children have suffered.
The other side of the coin: summary justice
The affair, however, has a second, violent legal chapter. Rumors of the abuse, quickly circulating in chat rooms and neighborhood hallways, sparked uncontrolled anger. The day after the complaint was filed, a group of eleven parents and relatives organized a veritable punitive raid inside the school.
They too are facing trial. The eleven defendants will face charges of aggravated assault, threats, damage, and disruption of public service, aggravated by the fact that they acted against a public official and in the presence of minors.
In that raid, the teacher suffered injuries to her arm. In this specific proceeding, the roles are reversed: the teacher, defended by lawyer Francesco Cappiello, will be sitting on the civil plaintiff's bench, the victim of a "do-it-yourself" justice system that violated the classroom as much as the crimes it was intended to punish.
