Naples - Dr. Biagio Chiariello has been appointed consultant to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into illegal activities related to the waste cycle and eco-mafias.

His resume includes the academic title of "specialist in environmental law and management" from the Second University of Naples, as well as proven field experience in the Land of Fires, including through active collaboration since 2018 with various government officials for combating the phenomenon of arson of waste in the Campania region.

A lawyer with two degrees in Law and Investigative Sciences, currently head of the local police force and soon to be head of the provincial police force, Dr. Biagio Chiariello has been appointed legal advisor to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into illegal activities connected to the waste cycle and other environmental crimes and eco-mafias based in Rome.

The Commission was established by Law No. 53 of 2023, assigning it specific tasks to be carried out using the powers of the judicial authority to investigate and monitor environmental crimes, such as illegal waste disposal (eco-mafia), illegal landfills, toxic management of SIN (Sites of National Interest), and agri-food fraud. It is composed of representatives from the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate and is supported by several external professionals.

For Dr. Biagio Chiariello, a leading expert in the field who was temporarily placed under protection following threats from the Camorra, this is yet another institutional recognition, in addition to the one awarded to him as a Knight of the Republic by President Sergio Mattarella.
