Milan – "The second Scudetto was more authentic, fought until the very end. The first, however, at a certain point became almost a given." Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis rewound the tape of Azzurri triumphs by receiving the 'Team of the Year' award at the Gazzetta Awards in Milan.
Speaking about his relationship with Antonio Conte, the Napoli club's leader revealed anecdotes and deep admiration. "We're always in touch," he confided. "I met him many years ago in the Maldives with my family. I listened to him with passion and interest: he's a man with an absolute desire to win. Sometimes you see people unmotivated by success, but not him. He has a hunger that we should all have."

De Laurentiis also made no secret of his ambitious infrastructure ambitions. "I hope to build my own stadium and a new sports center, to significantly expand them in the next three to four years," he continued. He also pointed to the flaws in the Italian system: "There are many problems in our country.
To govern cities, we need real managers. Just think, at San Siro they earn €14 million in a Champions League semi-final, while Napoli only earned €1,4 million in their last cup match. That's the economic gap that needs to be filled."
