A violent assault, a lightning-fast break-in, and the desperate reaction of residents who, in the dead of night, attempted to repel the thieves by throwing objects from their balconies. This is the scene that unfolded in Sant'Antimo, along Corso Unione Sovietica, where a gang of at least five people targeted a jewelry store, completely destroying it.

According to initial reports, the criminals entered the scene using a flex to lift the shutter and then broke into the entrance with a stolen car, using the well-established break-in method.

Within minutes, they broke into the shop, destroyed it, and fled with a still-unclear amount of loot. The surveillance camera footage, acquired and already being examined by investigators, has been sent to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli and regional councilor Carlo Ceparano.

The two institutional representatives visited the jewelry store's owner, Angelo De Rosa, in the afternoon. He was deeply shocked by the incident. "Seeing an honest business owner so distressed is a wound for the entire community," Borrelli and Ceparano stated. "Since the Carabinieri station was moved, crime rates have doubled, and life for residents and shopkeepers has become hell. We need more law enforcement to restore safety and serenity."

Both have launched an appeal for the community to rally around the victims: "Let's not abandon those who suffer these crimes. We stand with Angelo De Rosa and invite all citizens of Sant'Antimo and the province of Naples to come to the jewelry store in the coming days to show their solidarity. Those who work honestly must not feel abandoned."

The shopkeeper, still in shock, doesn't hide his disappointment: "I'm very disheartened, but I'll roll up my sleeves and start over with my wife. This is the second time in three years I've been robbed like this, but this time they destroyed everything. We shopkeepers have to face the business risks and the escalation of crime: it's difficult to keep going, but with everyone's support, we'll get back on our feet."

This incident has reignited security concerns in this town in the Neapolitan hinterland, already plagued by a string of predatory incidents and a growing sense of abandonment among residents.
