Napoli A tense night in the heart of the city. Around 2:00 a.m., several reports alerted the State Police to suspected gunfire in Piazza Carolina, just meters from Piazza del Plebiscito. Patrols from the Naples Police Headquarters' UPGSP (Universal Group for Security and Protection) responded to the scene and immediately began patrolling the area.
After searching the area, officers found a shell casing on the ground on Via Chiaia, the street that connects the square to the main pedestrian walkways in the center. No further evidence was found: no bullet holes, no damage, and most importantly, no injuries.

Police have begun an investigation to reconstruct the events of the incident and determine whether it was a shot fired in the air, an act of intimidation, or an isolated act. Investigators are analyzing footage from surveillance cameras in the area, which is particularly busy, even in the evening hours, due to its proximity to clubs and tourist attractions.
At this time, investigators are not ruling out any possible leads. The investigation will continue in the coming hours.
