Tighter checks and an increased flow of travelers for the Christmas holidays. It is against this backdrop that, on Saturday, officers from the Campania Railway Police Department arrested a 35-year-old Algerian citizen on charges of possession with intent to sell narcotics and resisting arrest.
The man was spotted inside Naples Central Station, cautiously showing a blister pack of pills to another individual. According to the reconstruction, the two men exchanged a brief conversation before proceeding with the exchange: one pill for an unidentified object.
Upon seeing the officers, both attempted to flee. The buyer managed to disappear into the crowd, while the alleged dealer was caught after a brief chase. The man reportedly resisted, engaging in a struggle with the officers before being finally subdued.

The arrest is part of efforts to combat drug dealing and prevent rail crime, which have been intensified in light of the increased number of tourists expected in Naples and the region's main towns during the holidays.
