Naples – An evening of intense checks in the heart of Neapolitan nightlife. Yesterday, as part of the extraordinary plan implemented by the Police Headquarters to increase checks in the busiest areas of the historic center, a joint operation was launched involving officers from the Decumani and Pianura police stations, and the Third Public Order Unit, along with members of the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police, and technicians from the Naples Central Health Authority (ASL Napoli 1 Centro).
During the operation, the patrols identified 115 people and checked 6 vehicles, issuing 5 fines for violations of the Highway Code.
Particular attention was paid to local businesses and businesses: 27 establishments were inspected, some of which were found to be non-compliant with health, hygiene, and administrative regulations. The owners were fined approximately €10. Local health authorities also seized approximately 6 kilos of food deemed non-compliant.
The operation also addressed the fight against illegal sales: several counterfeit goods found during the checks were seized.
The security measures, the Police Headquarters announced, will continue in the coming weeks to ensure safer and more law-abiding nightlife.

Finally, government coffers are being restored.
Not much!
Do you want to experience hell on earth? Take a nice Saturday afternoon stroll to the theater… Down in Naples… Chaos, filth, traffic blocked by deserted construction sites… They can't be working 24/7 to finish them any faster… Carabinieri and police with sirens blaring, circling, crowds, broken roads… Puozzata passa' nu uaie nishe!
Yesterday's operation appears to have been well-organized, but there are many things that remain unclear. Why were only six vehicles inspected? And the number of people: 115 is a high number, but I don't know if it's enough. The number of premises inspected appears to be too few compared to the total number in Naples. In short, more checks are needed.
