Naples continues to grapple with increasingly brazen crime. The latest incident occurred in the early afternoon of December 2nd on Viale Michelangelo, in Vomero, where a scooter purchased "at great expense" for a son was stolen in seconds. Surveillance cameras captured the entire incident, transforming that vehicle, a symbol of work and hope, into yet another example of citizens' daily vulnerability.
The victim filed a complaint and asked for help from Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, describing a feeling that has been spreading in Naples for some time: "It's an indescribable pain and anger. I bought this scooter at great expense. Thieves operate at all hours, in every area. Our country has become an El Dorado for thieves and criminals; they have an easy life due to excessive impunity and the chronic lack of police on the ground. We demand security and justice; we cannot be left alone."
Borrelli, along with Europa Verde municipal councilors Rino Nasti and Luca Bonetti, expressed solidarity with the citizen, denouncing a situation he calls out of control: "We are facing a constant emergency that we can no longer tolerate. The escalation in thefts, from cars to scooters, in broad daylight and in residential neighborhoods, is a sign of a state that is failing to guarantee basic safety for its citizens. The perception of impunity is extremely high, fueled by a system that often fails to punish in an exemplary manner. We need a massive increase in law enforcement personnel and a 24-hour territorial surveillance plan. It is unacceptable that honest citizens must live in fear, while criminals have an easy life."

Too much crime and this government does nothing to protect its citizens
NEAPOLITANS
Nothing else needs to be added
They have taken over…there are too many of them and the system and the lack of men do not guarantee us.
It is not a problem of control by the police, but of non-functional laws, many of these individuals are already known to the authorities, but continue to commit crimes because they do not pay penalties.
Lallo Nobbile Cialdini because in other cities they don't steal, look at the theft rankings
