A police deployment yesterday evening targeted the heart of Mergellina's nightlife, specifically the chalet area and Largo Sermoneta. The objective: prevention and control of the area.
The State Police, with officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, supported by their colleagues from the Local Police, conducted a large-scale operation. During the checks, 178 people were identified.
Of these, 18 were already known to law enforcement due to prior police records. Attention was also focused on traffic: 32 vehicles were checked.
The action, intensified in one of Naples' traditional evening and nighttime gathering spots, is part of routine activities aimed at ensuring citizen safety, combating widespread lawlessness, and maintaining urban decorum.

It's important that law enforcement be active in monitoring nightlife, but I don't know if 178 identified people is a fair number. More checks should be carried out to ensure safety.
